Come and visit our services, and learn how important the understanding of the word of God, the Bible, is to us here. You will enjoy the atmosphere at our services, where the only expectations we have on you as a visitor is to feel welcome.

Courtesy And Kindness

First of all, you will find no exclusive pews for any person. All are greeted with equal courtesy and kindness (Acts 10:34-35; Galatians 3:28).

You will find no tendency toward entertainment with beautiful organ or piano music. Like the first century Christians, we will engage in the singing of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19). The words used in our songs will be easy to understand (1 Corinthians 14:15). God has commanded the sincere praise of His people to come from the heart (Colossians 3:16).

Order And Reverence

You will not be confused by many people speaking or praying at the same time. Good order will prevail at every service (1 Corinthians 14:33). You will observe one of the brethren leading the congregation reverently and quietly in prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-5).

If you are present on Sunday, the Lord's Day, you will observe the congregation eating bread and drinking the fruit of the vine in memory of the death of Christ (Matthew 26:26-29). We do this on the first day of every week, like the Christians in the first century (Acts 20:7).

You will not find special collections taken at every service. A collection is taken only on the Lord's Day (1 Corinthians 16:1-3). This congregation is supported by the free will offerings of its members. We do not ask non-members to financially support our work, nor do we engage in fund raising activities like rummage sales and bingo games. We specialize in being a church, and do not compete with places of amusement.

The Bible Is Our Only Guide

You will observe that the Bible is the textbook to which reference is repeatedly made in our classes and sermons. Special emphasis is placed on that part of the Bible known as the New Testament (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 1:16). You will never be asked to accept what some man says about the Bible; we want you to read the Bible for yourself to see "whether those things are so" (Acts 17:11).

The audience will not be embarrassed or singled out for any sort of demonstration or testimony. You can quietly observe and study that which you see and hear (1 Corinthians 14:40).

Salvation In Christ

You will hear obedience to the will of Christ emphasized as necessary to salvation: faith in Christ as taught in the gospel (Romans 10:17); repentance (Luke 24:47); confession of faith in Christ (Romans 10:9-10); and baptism for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38).

If there should be a response from someone in the audience to the appeal mentioned above, you will see them taken to a pool of water where, in simple likeness to the burial of Christ, they will be buried in water and raised to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3-4).

You will be more than welcome at all of our services. Please come and bring your Bible to "search the Scriptures" with us. If you do not have a Bible, we will be happy to give you one.

Our Youth PDF Print E-mail

We have an active and involved group of young people. The Youth Group (6th - 12th graders) hosts Devotionals and a wide variety of activities and Service Projects throughout the year. A little younger group, those not yet in our Youth Group (up through 5th graders), are busy with many programs, activities and projects as well.

We have many deacons who work tirelessly to provide activities and special events with our youth.  You will hear here that our youth are not the church of tomarrow, but are part of the church of today!

You may be asking, does your youth group believe in evolution? The answer is yes...and no. We believe that God created the earth in 7 days just as scripture tells us. We don't believe in Darwin's theory of evolution. We believe in God's theory of evolution. What's that? Well we're glad you asked. We already said we believe in God's word in scripture so we'll let scripture explain. 1Corinthians 13:11 tells us "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me" We all grow and change over time, we want our young people to grow from children following God, to men and women of God. However that is not where our spiritual evolution ends. Darwin's theory of evolution shows man evolving to stand upright, we believe with God's evolution we will go from standing upright to hunched over. Why is that? Matthew 16:24 states "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." We want these young men and women of God to feel the weight of bearing the cross everyday, we want them to bow in reverance to a holy God, we want them to truly be living sacrifices. We believe in loving and serving God, we also love to be together.

"What's Different About the Church of Christ? " PDF Print E-mail

It is not a matter of being different. All religious organizations are different. It is a matter of accurately understanding the teachings of Jesus as revealed in the New Testament. There are at least seven beliefs held by the Church of Christ which are different.

The church holds the Bible to be the only way that God now communicates His will to man. It holds the New Testament as the part in which Christians are instructed in matters of faith and practice. It holds the Bible to be verbally inspired, and the Bible's silence as an important element in understanding God's will for us.

The church holds that water baptism is a condition of the sinner's receiving God's forgiveness (Acts 2:38). One is not a Christian -- not a saved person until one has been baptized.

The church holds that the first century church observed the Lord's Supper on the first day of every week (Acts 20:7). Therefore, such is the practice of the Church of Christ today.

The church holds that singing in the first century church was a cappella style (without an instrument) (Colossians 3:16). Therefore, such is the practice of the Church of Christ today.

The church holds that each congregation was an independent body organized under the leadership of elders and deacons (Philippians 1:1). Therefore, the Church of Christ today is organized that way believing that such is the Lord's way.

The church holds that the Lord's church exists on earth today anywhere folks learn what first century Christians learned, believe what they believed, and practice what they practiced. It further believes such is exactly what God intended (Ephesians 3:20).
